Oceans of Love

I am so ready for the warmer weather!  We are getting rain and SNOW.  Let's hope the forecasters are wrong and we don't get more snow.  So trying to look toward the warmer weather, I made a summer ocean card.  I got these stamps from Whimsie Doodles.  Just love their stamps!

Update: This card won the Digital Tuesday Challenge - For the kids here.  I am so excited!

On this card I used, Whimsie Doodles Beach Borders digi stamp and a fish digi from the Fish Tales stamp set.  The waves are made from the Quickutz waves dies and the sun is a quickutz sun die.  Copics were also used on this card.

Paper Playtime Monday Digi Challenge - Anything Goes

Monday Digi Challenge - Anything Goes

Head over and join in on the fun!

My first card is a 3D card

I used a digital stamp, called Bibis on Mushroom, from Pink Cat Studio.  You can check out this digi stamp here.  This card has three layers to give it a 3D effect.  I used Lifestyle Craft dies from the Special Delivery set to make the card base, layers and windows for this 3D card. I cut a window into two of the layers.

The first layer is the back drop so I added grass using a Martha Stewart punch. This layer is the card base so it is hinged with a back and front.  The inside will be decorated too.

The second layer has a window cut into it.  Plus I added grass again using the Martha Stewart punch and half of the Pink Cat Studio digital stamp peaking through the window.

The third layer also has a window cut into it.  Grass was added again from a Martha Stewart punch and the other half of the Pink Cat Studio digital stamp.  Can't waste a great stamp!  LOL  This is the top layer so once all the layers are put together using pop up dots more will be added to this layer to finish the card.

Here is a side view of the finished card.  You can see it is a thick card and the layers have been put together using the pop up dots.  The full stamp from Pink Cat Studio is placed on the top layer along with sentiment, some lemon Divine Twine and some blue rhinestones.  I used ribbon around the outside to finish of the card and to hide all the pop up dots.

The inside of this card is decorated also with more dies from Lifestyle Crafts and more sentiment.

Update: this card was featured on Birthday Sundaes Challenge.

This card is entered in the following challenges:

I also made a card using Doodle Pantry stamps and Doodle Pantry Digital paper.

I have never used Digital Paper before but I have to tell you the papers are really a cool thing to use.  You won't run out of paper in the middle of a project.  You can just print more.  Love that!
You can get the Watermelon Lunch stamp, "Wanna have lunch" sentiment and Watermelon digital paper here.

This card is entered in the following challenges:
A Spoonful of Sugar - Rhinestone and Flowers
Creative Card Crew - No rubber stamps
Creative Belli - "C" crystal embellishments

Cardmadfairy's Digi Days - Back to nature

Fun Cupcake Project

Happy Cupcakes to you today!

I have been decorating for upcoming birthdays in our family and wanted to make my own cupcake decorations.  I decorate for all the holidays so why not our family birthdays!

Here is the cupcake I am going to show you how to make.

To make this cupcake you need the following supplies:

A small round desert plate
Silicone muffin baking cups
Fun buttons
Needle and Thread
A half a yard of a fun fabric
Scissors
Polyester fiber fil
Pencil

Ok.  Now you have your supplies so let's get started!!

To start out you need to layout your fabric on a flat surface and place your plate face down on the fabric.

Then using a pencil trace around the plate, making a large circle on the fabric.

Once you have cut out your circle, you need to rollover the edge then baste stitch it down.  When you stitch all the way around the circle you need to leave the threads long so you can draw up the fabric.

You need to stuff the circle with fiber fil before you draw up the circle completely and then tie off the threads.  Like in the picture below.

Once this is completed, turn over your ball of stuffed fabric and sew a fun button or beads to the top of the ball.

Lastly, stuff your decorated ball into the silicone cup with the decorated side up.  Now you have a cute cupcake to use for decorating for someone's birthday.

Have fun!!!

Always Crafting

When I saw this digi I knew it had to be mine.  LOL  Using this digi, I made a Always Crafting sign for my little crafting area.

Since this sign was not going to be mailed I was able to use very dimensional embellishments.  I made some pom pom flowers (directions on how to make these flowers is here.)  Sentiment, two brads, and orange twine now this sign is ready to use.

Take care!

Pink Cat Studio

Today I am posting a project made with a Pink Cat Studio digi.   I love the stamps made by Melissa at Pink Cat Studio.  Pink Cat Studio will be releasing their St. Patrick's Day stamps on March 10th.  Check them out at Pink Cat Studio.

I wanted to start with a St. Patrick's day project since we are so close to this upcoming holiday and I am Irish among other things :).  Loving some shamrocks!  The Pink Cat Studio stamp is Itty Bitty Betty - Rainbow.

I created this coupon book for my husband.  It has several pages in it for free items just for him.  Here are two of the pages from inside the book.  I took them out of the book to photograph them.  The die cut used to create this coupon book are an old Sizzix album cover die and page die.

There had to be a few pages saying a one kiss.

And of course green beer coupons.  LOL

Do you use background stamps?

I have been looking for really good background digital stamps for a while now and I came across this site, Hambo Stamps, that sells really detailed incredible background digital stamps. You can find the link here. I purchased the stage background to use for my Superstar Anya card below.

I just love the background don't you? The idea to have a setting for my stamps has been rolling around in my brain for a while now. Using a background can give your cards some depth and interest.

Wanting a moonscape background I emailed Monica, the site owner, and asked her if she would consider making one. Well she got right back to me and told me that they would! Love it!

My next request will be for a beachscape! The possibilities are endless! Way to go Hambo Stamps!

For this card I printed the background stamp on white cardstock and printed paper. I cut out the large background curtain from the printed paper and placed it over the white cardstock after I colored in the rest of the background. Then colored up the Superstar Anya stamp and cut her out. Next, she was placed her on the stage with pop ups. She just had to be singing on her stage so I added a microphone cut out with my cricut. Added some twine and sentiments, then she was ready for her preview!

Monica, posted this card on the Hambo Stamps blog.  Here is the link.  Thanks Monica!

Try out the background stamps.  See what they can do for your cards. :)
